Maruti launched all new Swift today in India


Maruti Suzuki India today on 17th August2011  launched the all new Swift pricedbetween 4.42 lakh and 5.53 lakh for petrol model and 5.17 lakh and 6.38 lakhfor diesel variant. The car will be sold across 981 dealerships of the company.




Maruti Suzuki and its suppliers have invested over Rs 550crore to make the new Swift which is 95 per cent localised. The Swift enteredthe Indian market in 2005 selling over 6,00,000 units in six years. The newSwift already has 50,000 booking orders.

PTI reports:

“We have launched the new Swift at a time when there was asignificant demand for the outgoing model. I am confident that the new Swiftwill create new benchmarks with its improved fuel efficiency, stylish andsportier looks and high performance,” Maruti Suzuki India Managing Director andCEO, Mr Shinzo Nakanishi, told reporters here.

Launched six years back, the Swift has been a runawaysuccess for the company, with over six lakh units sold so far.

Maruti is hoping that the new version will furtherstrengthen its position.

The new Swift is available in both petrol and diesel options.The petrol variant is powered by a 1.2-litre K series engine, while the dieselversion has a 1.3-litre engine.
