2012 BMW 1-Series Hatchback Spied Spy Shots

BMW released an updated version of the 1-Series compact in late 2008 but since then suspicious prototypes of a new car with similar proportions and signature BMW styling have been captured running around the south of Germany. Previously, we had only seen early development test-mules but the latest shots reveal full prototypes for the next-generation 1-Series Hatchback model.2012 BMW 1-Series Hatchback Spied Spy Shots

The current 1-Series has often been criticized for having a back seat no full-sized adult would be comfortable in. However, the rear seat room in this new 2012 model is expected to be much improved. This may also see BMW finally release the Hatchback version of the 1-Series in the all-important U.S. market. A slightly longer wheelbase and wider track than the current model will almost certainly be present. The 2011 1-Series coupes and convertibles received a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic to the 135i, as well as a twin-scroll turbocharged six-cylinder engine. For 2012, we expect this drivetrain to remain in any 135 variants.
The existing BMW and PSA Group alliance, which already produces engines for MINI, will be building engines ranging from 1.4-liters to 3.0-liters for the next-gen 1-Series. Turbos are most certainly on the list, but an M version is said to be out of the question again. Instead, we’re expecting “green” models such as low-polluting diesels and hybrids.

2010 Lotus Evora S Concept Reviews and Price with Wallpaper

Following the appearance of a leaked memo that gave the game away a month earlier than its planned debut, Lotus has today revealed the 2010 Lotus Evora S Concept, a more highly-tuned version of the Evora. Joining the S spec will be the Evora IPS, fitted with an automatic transmission.

The unveiling of the Evora S follows spy photos obtained only last week, revealing the new range-topper testing in Europe, a large rear diffuser setting it apart from the regular Evora.

Driven by the same 3.5 litre engine as its stablemate, the Evora S gets its output boosted to 257.5kW and 400Nm of torque - an increase of around 52kW and 50Nm respectively.

The first all-new Lotus since the iconic Elise made its debut in 1995, The Evora enters the sports car market as currently the world's only mid-engined 2+2. Powered by a Lotus-tuned 3.5-litre V6 engine producing 280 PS, and weighing just 1350 kg (prototype specification), the Evora promises breathtaking performance. During preliminary testing around the famous Nürburgring, the Lotus chassis engineers report that it is extremely agile and great fun to drive - even when clad with the full development disguise that hid the beautiful lines from the prying motor-industry paparazzi.
The design language of the interior reflects that of the exterior - simple, fluid surfaces, soft forms and crisp feature lines wrap around the cabin cosseting the occupants. Unlike recent Lotus products that use a race car inspired, technical minimalism, the Evora employs a softer approach that utilises premium quality materials and finishes to create a contemporary but luxurious ambience that is unique to Lotus products.

It is, according to Head of Lotus Design Russell Carr, "A huge departure from what people might expect based on Lotus's recent past. We wanted the Evora's cabin to feel special and to be surprising as well as sporty. Precision engineered metal inserts and quality edge-lit switches are brilliantly juxtaposed against soft hand-stitched leather surfaces to give a modern interior with a classic twist."
The Evora S Concept will be powered by a supercharged Toyota-sourced 3.5-liter V6 engine that will deliver a total of 350bhp and more than 300lb ft of torque. This means a sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 5.0 seconds and a top speed in excess of 172mph. However, it will be pretty hard to identify the Evora S, as it will only get a larger rear diffuser. The car is expected to be priced at £60,000 ($93,000 at the current exchange rates).

2010 Citroen DS High Rider Concept Review and Wallpapers

Citroen has released the first details on the DS High Rider Concept that will be unveiled at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. It is the second concept associated with Citroën's innovative and distinctively styled DS line.

The Citroen DS High Rider Concept represents a vision of the future, combining compact dimensions - it is 4.26m long, 1.82m wide & 1.48m high - with generous internal volumes, dynamic performance and sophisticated style.

Unlike traditional 4-seater coupes, with their long, low design, the Citroen DS High Rider Concept is compact and muscular.

Its character is expressed through a sleek flowing windscreen that soars over the heads of front occupants - hinting at a bright and spacious cabin environment.

The apparently continuous glazed area of the side windows connects the A-pillars to the gently sloping roof line of the rear.

Citroen DS High Rider Concept's profile is characterised by its high waistline and the stylish 19" alloy wheels. Its front end has gaping air intakes, long incisive headlights and defined ridges along the hood. The four seater hatch is based on the next-generation C4's platform and hardware. It measures 4.26m in length, 1.82m in width and 1.48m height, meaning it's slightly shorter but wider and taller than the current C4 Coupe.

The production model's powertrains are most likely to be borrowed from the next C4, though there's a strong possibility that we may see the concept model's 'full-hybrid' diesel-electric drivetrain that combines a HDi engine under the bonnet and an electric motor located on the rear axle being offered in the near future.

According to Citroen, both engines of the hybrid system combine to deliver additional power with additional torque transmitted to the rear wheels.
