2011 Subaru WRX STI Sedan Review with Wallpapers

Subaru has unveiled a new four-door sedan version of the 2011 Subaru WRX STI at the New York auto show. For the first time the WRX STI will be available in both a 5-door hatch and 4-door sedan configuration. The 4-door variant features a "wide and low"-themed body styling.

The new WRX STI gets a new design which includes sharper bumper corners, new fog lamps and a new and larger front grill with bumper air intakes. The 4-door sedan variant also gets wider rear fenders for a more distinguishing look.

The drivetrain remains the same. The 2011 STI routes 305 horsepower from the same 2.5-liter flat-4 through a 6-speed manual transmission to all four wheels, meaning a blast to 60 mph will take 4.8 seconds, and the quarter mile in 13.5 seconds at 100.6 mph, as it did in our departed long-term STI. The robust Brembo braking system, which is good for a 109-foot 60-to-0 mph stopping distance, is unchanged
New standard 18-inch aluminum wheels feature high-luster paint and weigh 17.6 lbs less than the previous standard wheels. The optional 18 x 8.5 in. BBS® forged aluminum-alloy wheels are highlighted by silver high-luster paint for 2011. These wheels further reduce unsprung vehicle weight. Dunlop SP600 245/40R18 summer performance tires are used with the standard and optional wheels.
Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) provides precise control of braking pressure between the front and rear wheels based on the vehicle load to improve stability and stopping distances. Brake Assist analyzes the force and stroke on the brake pedal and increases hydraulic boost to provide enhanced emergency braking, also activating the ABS system early if needed.
