2010 McLaren MP4-25 Formula 1 Review with Wallpapers

The Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team unveiled its 2010 car today at Vodafone UK’s headquarters in Newbury. The new car keeps the silver red colour combo and features quite extreme looking version of shark-fin engine cover. Here is selection of images from the 2010 McLaren F1 car launch including photos of the car, the race drivers Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button and their helmets.
The MP4-25 has also sprouted a number of new ducts and vents on its bodywork. The purporse of the inlet on the nose is unclear, initial suggestions were that it was for driver cooling, but that duct is on the tip of the nose as with other recent McLarens.
At both Jerez tests the MP4-25 airbox shape has been revised - with three variants run to date the original with a central vane, and two developments on it seen below.
Finally at both Valencia and Jerez the green dye used for airflow visualisation returned, this is a very basic technique which has been used in racing for decades. McLaren have been looking at the radiator ducts and side pod shape as well as the double diffusers.
The MP4-25 Formula 1 uses a 2.4-liter V-8, which revs to (restricted) 18,000 rpm and puts its astonishing (and unlisted) power down through a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
